An inspired poem, from me, and fuller account of the Einstein letter

What was that light, that for an inst, flashed from the hedge in early morn?

From silhouetted bush came sparks, no sooner seen then they were gone.

Has God hidden gem stones in the trees,  visual words for you and me?

“The bushes being damp with dew, and bathed in early sunlight too, is sure the source of light”, says you.

And yes, when looked upon in worldly terms, the source is plain and beauty’s lost, as good deeds’ motives pulled apart, as if there is no love at heart.

But God has hidden gems inside, for all who want, to be surprised.

And do not think that we don’t bear His hidden gems, for us to share.

A letter by Einstein letter recently has been sold for a great deal of money. The papers correctly reported that in it he said that he did not believe in a personal God. They did not report that elsewhere Einstein said God manifests Himself “in the laws of the universe as a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble.” Thus the papers’ implication that Einstein believed that there is no God is clearly misleading. One wonders if that is on purpose or just ignorant?
