I got tired of the old dark varnish in the cabin so decided on beach hut colours. It’s only emulsion over primer so will need some maintenance but so does the rest of the boat.
Now here’s a suprise. The radio aerial cable was found burnt out. It must have got very hot and the only explanation is that it must have acted as the shortest route from negative to the boat shell. The negatives go back to the battery via a breaker switch. The engine is not earthed to the boat apart through the stern bearings. Somehow there must have been a high current from the boat to negative, I guess whilst I was doing something in the engine bay, perhaps trying to jump start it?? Anyway no harm but a close cal as the cable was burnt all the way along. I must earth the engine to the hull.
A good spot at the Paddington festival in May.
The workers struggling with diesel supplies.
lots of colour, even in the characters there
Then to the Ricky festival. My deck with 2 guitars, two accordions, a harmonica, 4 ukuleles, and a bell (me)
And the fox
Finally I have taken the plunge (not literally this year yet) and painted the name back on the boat. It’s great, from a distance without glasses, and if you squint one eye.
